In the footage shown a E3, we got a glimpse of the items featured in previous Legend of Zelda games, such as shields, bombs, swords and the bow, which are still there, just not exactly how you remember them, or remember using them. If you like finding your favorite weapon and using it for the rest of the game, well, you’re shit out of luck, because you won’t be able to do so in Breath of The Wild. There is a large variety of weapons you can obtain by opening treasure chests or defeating an enemy, but you can’t use them for too long, as they will wear out and lose their damage or defensive efficiency. You will need to constantly change them, not only because of damage issues, but also because you will need different weapons for different tasks. The character can now use heavy, two-handed weapons like long swords and axes.
Becoming the Master Chef
This is one of the major changes brought to the game. Link will not be able to replenish his health as easily as in previous installments just by collecting items as he cuts down grass. This time around, you will have to cook your meals, and it won’t be a simple process either. You will have to collect ingredients such as plants, meat or insects and make a fire in order to cook them. Up to 5 ingredients can be mixed to achieve a health regenerating meal, potions that will increase the character’s stats, or food that can make you immune to the negative effects that cold weather now has on Link’s health. Furthermore, you can often get it wrong, as not all ingredients make for good recipes, so you have to try over and over until you get it right.
We can’t piece it all together just yet, but many people who have seen the E3 gameplay believe that Ganon will be the main villain in Breath of The wild. One of the reasons for this presumption is the fact that the monks encountered by Link in the uncovered gameplay footage say they are devoted to helping anyone who wants to go up against Ganon, so it’s highly improbable this chatter is just irrelevant. We have also seen huge enemies, like a massive stone monster coming out of the ground. In order to defeat it, Link has to climb him just like a mountain or a building and find its soft spot.
