If you are a fan of the old style gameplay of fallout, you’re going to love this new mod of Fallout 2. It’s called Fallout 1.5: Ressurection and has a map simillar in size to that of Fallout 1. The action will take place somewhere in New Mexico, and will connect the stories of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The map might not be so big, but it contains many more quests that you can engage in and solve in a variety of ways. While the Czech version of this mod has been out for quite some time, you can now play the English version.
Players will start the game by regaining consciousness after being out, for who knows how long, in a cave. It’s up to you to investigate and discover why and how you ended up there in the first place.
Compared to Fallout 2, this game has totally lost its sense of humor and, as the developers say, has “a great atmosphere of decadence and hopelessness. The world is still chaotic, with only a few, small, independent communities connected tenuous trade relations. The wasteland is an unfriendly place where law is on the side of whoever has the biggest gun.”
About what they want to accomplish with this particular mod of the game they said: “Our aim was to bring back this classic RPG in its original form. Many remember the feeling when they first played Fallout. Until you completed the game, you journeyed through interesting locations filled with fascinating things. Even after several play-throughs, you continued to find new, exciting stuff. Players could really get into such a game, so that’s exactly the kind of game we’ve endeavoured to create.”
If you’ve only played Fallout 3 or 4, this mod might seem strange, but if you’ve been with the franchise since the beginning, you will fit right in. The English version of Fallout 1.5 Resurrection is available now and free to download. So, what are you waiting for?!
