The developers of the famous Job Simulator, Owlchemy Labs, and the creators of the even more famous Adult Swim show Rick and Morty are teaming up in order to make the show into a game. And not just any old regular game. The game will only be played in VR and will be named Virtual Rick-ality. We don’t know anything about a release date at this time, but we do know that fans of virtual reality and fans of the show will be able to play it on HTC Vive.
So far, they have only showed a small 13 second clip of gameplay, but we can already see Rick’s garage looks pretty much similar to what you have seen in the Adult Swim show. The attention to detail is very intriguing. We have also learned that players will have the ability to jump through portals.
The game developer revealed how they came up with the idea and how it’s being turned into reality:
“We’ve been working in secret for months. This is truly a dream project for us. We’ve been huge fans of the franchise since the beginning. Working with Justin Roiland is hilarious, and he gets us. In fact, we first met serendipitously over our mutual love of Job Simulator, got drunk, ate Indian food, and then decided to make a video game together. And now we’re bringing the world of Rick and Morty to virtual reality.”
If you’re a big fan of VR, and especially if you love Rick and Morty, you can find out tons of stuff about the game by attending the San Diego Comic-Con, which will take place between 21-24 July.
